Delightful, brightly-colored stop-motion animation makes this sensitive coming-of-age story about an orphan nicknamed Zucchini all but irresistible.

After losing his mother, a young boy is sent to a foster home with other orphans his age where he begins to learn the meaning of trust and true love. Was nominated for Academy Award as the best animated film.

Barras was born in 1973 in Sierre (Switzerland) in a family of winemakers. He studied illustration and computer graphics at the École Emile Cohl art school in Lyon and computer graphics at ECAL (École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne). He has a degree in anthropology and digital imaging. Over the course of his career, Barras has directed several short films, but became famous in 2016 with his film “The Life as a Zucchini ”.
