History shows that Kazakhstan has always been and is a crossroads, a place for a meeting and a dialogue of different cultures and civilizations of the East and West.
Today, the dialogue of cultures is closely linked to globalization. Globalization has affected almost all areas, including culture and art. Cinematography has become an art, where you can see the national and cultural characteristics of other countries.
Co-production is one of the most important aspects of creating and developing a cultural dialogue between countries.
International co-production in cinema provides a number of advantages and opens many doors such as the opportunity to expand the cinema audience and present the films to new markets, to attract more creative and financial resources to your country and understand the culture and customs of other nations.
The main competition of the Almaty Film Festival will present feature films of 2019, made in co-production of two or more countries.
Last year, the Almaty Film Festival received about 300 submissions. Submissions are accepted from any country in the world. Call for films submissions will be open until July 31, 2019.
