When Kostya, an 11-year-old schoolboy from Perm, who is fond of archeology, finds an old Stroganoff chest with a map during some practice excavations, a real hunt begins for Ermak’s legendary treasure. The boy sets off to find the treasure, having told his parents that he is going to his grandmother’s country house. To Kostya surprise, he is joined by the runaway tomboy Masha. Together the children manage to evade both gangsters and police, showing an amazing ingenuity and slowly, but persistently approaching the treasure step by step.

Born in 1970 in Irkutsk. In 1991 graduated from the Philosophy Department of Tomsk State University. In 2012 he graduated as director from the Film Institute VGIK (workshop of Alexei Uchitel).
