According to the laws of Afterlife, all deceased must go through 7 trials over 49 days, divided into 7 categories of sins: betrayal, violence, filial piety, murder, indolence, deceit, and injustice. Once the deceased clears all 7 trials, he can be reincarnated and start a new life. Having died unexpectedly at the scene of a fire while trying to save a little girl, fire-fighter Ja-hong is taken to trial, where he meets the vengeful spirit of his brother.

Kim Yong-hwa

Born in 1971 in South Korea. He majored in Film Studies at Chung-Ang University, graduating in 1999 with the short film “In the Jungle”, which won several awards. For his feature debut, Kim wrote and directed “Oh! Brothers”, a comedy about an amoral, debt-ridden private detective; it was a hit at the Korean box office.
